Capt McWatt’s Wedding
It was a great pleasure and honour, for us to be invited to not only witness but take part in the wedding celebration of a good friend of mine this past weekend in Ottawa. The lavishly dressed gentleman in the scarlet uniform, with his back to us and the camera, is none other than the formidable and ever-dashing, Captain Richard McWatt, CD. But the one who captivated this fairy tale wedding was his bride-to-be, Miss Kellie Potter, pictured here showing off the most stunning train to her wedding gown. Saturday, September 10, 2022 in Nota Dame Cathedral both Kellie and Richard, pledged there’s love to each other, in front of their family and friends.
Now if you ever meet Rick, you will come to know that he is a bit of a fancy and regal man. You might say born in the wrong era of time, but I think that is why we get along so well. One can only imagine when I first heard that Kellie and Rick were planning to tie the knot, how much we envisioned that this wedding might showcase what a Canadian, Royal Wedding might look like, and well… in typical Rick style we were not disappointed.
With swords drawn, a few close officer friends of Captain McWatt, greeted the newly married couple on the front steps of the cathedral, while bells rang out, before heading to the Chateau Laurier for what can only be called a pageantry wedding reception. We are so honored and happy to now call Kellie one of our friends, and look forward to having them down to Hamilton in the near future for some cocktailsandn dinner. We might just have to hit a martini night at the Hamilton Club
