Next level - Get fit

I’ve mentioned it a few times, that in 2022 I wanted to take stock of what I have hoped to achieve for myself and how I could better develop myself personally.  You can find my list for this year on the Feb 22 post “Mapping out 2022”.  The first item on that list is one that has no quick fix and will not be obtainable overnight. Did I do that on purpose, to have it as the first item, Yes!  Cultivate a better body and mind by focusing on losing weight, making healthy choices, and carving out time to have mindful meditations.    Ya… that is a big one, and some days I think it might have been more than I can handle in one setting.  But its my task to see what I can do to achieve this or in broader strokes to set myself on the path of obtaining this goal with longevity.

You don't just lift a weight once and you are strong, it’s the repetitive changing of your habits and constant labour in building a better body which will make you strong, and of course, maintain a proper and effective diet.  I can work out at the gym all I want, and I will still look like a heavy-set man. It’s the diet that also needs to change and making smarter and healthy choices, of the food, which I put into my body.  Jennifer Love Hewitt reminded us to “Remember, that our body is a temple, not a 7-Eleven “and it's true.

To that, I am now going to embrace smoothies as part of the repertoire of healthy eating.  I need the protein, not because I want to be jacked because that is not the look I’m going for. But with working out every morning I need the protein to build the muscle in the right area and help burn the fat. Plus the added bonus is to start looking at much healthier ways to eat at home.
