Grand Adventure

The Gang staring our voyage in Paris, ON on the Grand River

Fun fact! The Grand River which is the largest river that is entirely within Southwestern Ontario was formally known as “The River Ouse”. The river has a rich and interesting history, and is a playground for outdoor recreation in the summer, as it winds 280km through some of Ontario’s tourist cities such as Fergus, Ellora, Paris and empties into Lake Erie.

This past weekend we got to venture down a section of the Grand River with The Gang and see the beauty that nature affords to us during the summer. Sunday was a perfect day, not too hot, not too sunny. But warm enough to jump in the water, and swim beside the raft for a bit, before paddling to our lunch spot and then on to our pullout location at Brant Conservation. We booked our adventure day through Grand River Rafting, and they made sure we were equipped and informed to be on a day of river time. Hey, maybe a large raft filled with great friends and snacks is not your jam. They also have some awesome Turbo tubes that you can float down the river on your own.

You know every now and then you just need to let loose and do something outside the box to experience what Ontario has to offer in the summer, it’s even better when you can do it with friends.

This is end of day, we are a bit wet from the last 200m paddling in the rain, but we still all have a smile on our face.
